Services
Dr. Tia currently provides individual therapy sessions for retired and active first responders and public safety professionals. Couples are seen on a case-by-case basis.
Many departments are willing to pay for your therapy sessions. Please check with your HR or administration to discuss this option. If your agency is paying for your sessions please be prepared to provide the department’s billing information so they can be invoiced.
Other First Responder Payment options
- Dr. Tia is approved by the Fraternal Order of Police. Please see their website or your chapter leadership for information about what they will cover. Officer Wellness (utahstatefop.com)
- She is willing to work with most agencies and contract with EAPs for payment of services. Please reach out to discuss these options.
Insurance
We are currently paneled with Select Health, United, EMI, DMBA, and Blue Cross insurance companies.
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician for services to be covered?
Payment
We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards as forms of payment.
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. If you cancel with less than 4 hours’ notice you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
